This one takes the hat trick!!
As we drove past Hoerco, which is a large Harvey Norman type of business, selling all sorts of things but specialising in Television, Videos, Computers etc.... we decided to get a new package for the van. This meant that we were looking at the WHOLE PACKAGE - a new television, a new receiver and a new satellite dish. The van had existing but much older TV and we've missed getting International and Australian News and live sport etc....
We took some time to select our TV - made sure it could be connected to 12 volt and 240 volt power, choose a good receiver and selected a satellite dish. Retailer wouldn't accept our travel card (CBA card with cash on it) so we had to drive into local town, find ATM and then make out way back to collect our package. All good so far - until we tried to put it together ................ and found, not surprisingly, that the instructions were in German!! of course they were in German, that's where we were and we didn't even think that we would have any problems. In fact, I don't think we thought about this at all !!!!! How dumb is that?
Anyway - Grant has done a great job of trying to get everything put together BUT at this stage we still haven't seen anything of significance on the screen!! The dish has not found any English programmes and cstill oming up with some message in German which we clearly don't understand. SO - out with the German/English translation book and start reading ............
Until a rainy day - we've now packed it away.
