Switzerland

We had an interesting and challenging drive from the top of Lake Como through the Alps and many long tunnels before we crossed the Swiss border. Unfortunately the Swiss police at this border took exception to having a photo taken and one insisted that photo be deleted or he would 'shoot' Helena. Fat chance of that but not before she started to visualise the headlines on the front page of The Advertiser and The Australian the following day. !!!!

After heavy overnight rain and early morning rain and drizzle we headed off in our rain jackets, caught the Ferry and enjoyed Lake Gourmet menu of cheese, dessert, wine and coffee as we sailed from Villeneuve past several other villages on our way to Chilion before getting off and walking back to our camp site. It was a beautiful afternoon and we enjoyed a beer overlooking the Lake before making a run for it as the weather changed.

Another ferry but this one has a lunch menu

Happy

Needs a hair cut ......

Yummy  ............

We decided to stay at a little place called Villenuve which was by the Lake and settled in for what we expected was going to be a pleasant stay and initially it was. However, when asking about access to the Internet, the response was that it was only available around the cafe area. We returned to the van, grabbed our gear and when we turned up, told it was KARPUT, with the appropriate hand signals. OK we thought and went back to the van.

Little later, Helena needed to do some washing, found out what the cost and process was. On turning up with washing - believe it or not, it was KARPUT - again with the appropriate sign language. OK but disappointing.

The rain stopped and the sun came out - so time to hit the road.
