Luxembourg

Luxembourg is the third smallest city in Europe and what it lacks in size it makes up for character and maximising the space it has.

We enjoyed doing a scenic bus tour which allowed us to see most of the city sights before getting off at the stop where the Old Town was so we could wander around a little. Fortunately it was quite warm so the afternoon was very pleasant.

Beautifully done

Yummy

Even more yummy

We found a lovely camp site on the River Sure where Luxembourg and Germany share a border.  It was a fabulous day so we spent half of the day reading, and enjoying the river before deciding to hire a canoe for a paddle down the river. The river deteriorated (again!) and it started to rain. We took cover under the trees and came across a group of stroppy swans who loudly advised us that we were intruding on their space !! They left no room for interpretation.........
Beautiful river - day started out alright

Wet and rather cold we made it to the other end and caught the bus back to the campside where we shared a drink and enjoyed the company of one of our new four legged friends. 'Deano' the golden retreiver was super friendly and surprisingly responded well to English. He loved the attention and our thoughts went back to our friends dog Mulligan who also was a lovely dog.
